The Night Before Tax Day
'Twas the night before Tax Day
And all through the keep,
Nobody was stressed,
We were all fast asleep.
Our zero returns had been filed with care;
Hoping our refund checks soon would be there.
The children were asleep, snug in there beds,
While symbols of liberty danced in their heads.
All of a sudden, I heard glass shatter.
I went downstairs to see what was the matter.
I walked 'round the corner and much to my surprise,
Looking back at me was an IRS boogeyman with guilty, bloodshot eyes.
He was unkempt and his language was foul,
He smelled like he fell out of the low end of an owl.
"You didn't pay your fair share." he huffed and he snorted,
"I wasn't liable!" I accurately retorted.
"You rely on ignorance, intimidation, and fear,
I know the truth, you have no power here!
You lie, you steal, and you use fake names.
Who are you today Julie or James?
The courts go along with your crimes and misdeeds,
So that you won't harass them; their bad decisions multiply like weeds."
As he crept closer with an empty stare,
I thought about the law, about which he did not care.
In one fluid motion, I took out the code,
He now wanted out of my humble abode.
He panicked and shrieked like a girl,
Right then and there I nicknamed him Pearl.
"Show me the law!" I said, "Now's your chance!"
He sputtered and stammered, I think he peed in his pants.
Back out the window he went, his tail between his legs,
He was afraid of the law and its voluminous regs.
He scrambled to his getaway car which he had illegally seized,
He called out to his cohorts as he coughed and he wheezed,
On Leavitt! On Pro! On Dawson! On George!
We'll score a conviction with documents we will forge!
Into the darkness he did disappear.
In the future he'll think twice before coming back here.
With victory in hand, I felt much taller.
I then let out the following holler.
A stress free tax day to all.
And to all an income tax free life!

Wesley Snipes on Larry King Live
Wesley Snipes was on Larry King Live tonight to discuss his trial and pending entrance to prison.
A couple of things of interest were mentioned.
1. A few jurors decided before the trial that he was guilty. I already knew about this but what I did not know was that, as a whole, the jury voted not guilty on failing to file because they believed he would not be sent to prison.
2. In the last few minutes of the show, it was said that that during jury selection, the prosecutor told the blacks the wrong day to come back but gave all the other jurors the correct date.
As it relates to item 1, the fact that some jurors decided before the trial that he was guilty means he did not get a fair trial and therefore his conviction is void. Furthermore, the fact that the jury's vote of guilty was based in part on their belief that he would not be sent to prison not only further shows that he did not get a fair trial, it also shows that they jury did not fully understand their role or authority.
As it relates to item 2, if this statement is true, it shows gross prosecutorial misconduct which was apparently ignored by the judge who also ignored the biased jury.
Anyway, he has a number of issues he can and is taking to the Supreme Court. Even if they rule against him, he'll be out well before the 3 years are up.

Irwin has e-Mail

Irwin's Got E-mail!!!
I just got an invitation from CorrLinks to sign up. Now I can
communicate directly with Irwin. This is so cool! And it will keep the
long distance cost down.
Irwin said he can have up to 100 people on his e-list. He has to enter
your email into a request, then you will get an invitation. Yes, your
communications are "subject to" eavesdropping by the prison personnel
but, I'll bite the bullet. I am just thrilled that we can communicate
more. Besides, Irwin needs you all to inspire him. Send me your email
addresses if you want to be added to his list and the next time he
calls, I will give them to him.
Did you know he's had 3 toes amputated since he's been incarcerated?
He always makes jokes about it. I hope he can get around okay.
He mentioned that he was suffering from writers block for the past few
days, so he's not writing much. He said all he wants to do is read
magazine articles right now. I asked if there were any magazines I
could send him in particular and he said he likes those political
magazines from Republic Magazine. http://www.RepublicMagazine.com (I
bought a bunch of them and mailed them out to some of our political
prisoners of war last year). Aaron Russo started that magazine just
before he died. Unfortunately, I can't afford to send them out like I
used to at this time though, so if you folks can afford it, for our
guys and gals that have been robbed of their freedom, you can get them
in bulk for a fair price and just mail them out to them. Rick Stanley
told me that his copy had been a favorite among his fellow inmates,
and it was loaned out so much that the edges were all curled. (that
was the Ron Paul issue). I haven't sent any out this year. So, if you
can get back issues, that would be great too. They are all good.

concerned about his old friend Russell Jay. He hasn't heard from him
in a long time. We have called his numbers, but they have been

same age as Irwin, so we are hoping he is still alive and well.

Irwin & Cindy engaged!

CINDY AND IRWIN ARE ENGAGED!
Irwin proposed, and Cindy accepted, in what must be one of the most
bizarre engagements ever: they had to communicate through a third
party (yr hmbl srvnt) because in the wisdom of government, they are
not allowed to write to each other.
Irwin said on the phone last week that it would be okay to tell you-
all, and today Cindy has written to give her permission too, so there
you are: SSCers are the first to know!
The marriage date has not been discussed, but I don't see how it can
precede next April, when Cindy should be outta there. Just how it will
go down even then, who can tell. Irwin is resolved to get out also,
but his amazing optimism hasn't yet overcome the dead hand of
government. But at least, as spouses (spice?) they should be allowed
letters, visits etc.
